Serum Response Factor (SRF) Pathway Products

SwitchGear Serum Response Factor (SRF) Pathway Screening Sets

Serum response factor (c-fos serum response element-binding transcription factor or SRF) is a transcription factor that regulates the activity various genes involved in cell cycle, apoptosis, embryogenesis, cell growth, neuronal transmission, and cell differentiation. Improper regulation of SRF pathways has also been implicated in various disorders including ulcer, psoriasis, and cardiomyopathy.Understanding the mechanisms of how SRF is coordinated with other physiological pathways gives further insight into the roles of SRF in normal development and disease.

SwitchGear Genomics offers a comprehensive panel of cell-based promoter reporter assays that allow you to accurately quantify transcriptional activation and repression in response to SRF pathway activation. Our promoter assays includes an empirically-validated collection of promoters of genes that are targets of SRF. The SwitchGear SRF promoter reporters help to reveal the coordinated action of genes responsible in the SRF pathway and the mechanism by which these genes regulate normal development and disease conditions. In addition, SwitchGear offers UTR reporter assays that measure transcript stability, translational repression, miRNA function.

Applications

The SwitchGear collection of SRF-relevant promoter reporters allows you to:

  • Understand the mechanisms by which SRF regulated genes are induced or repressed
  • Quantify the functional consequences of transcription factor binding – while many other technologies give a qualitative view of transcription factor level, our promoter reporter assays quantify the effects of transcription factor binding
  • Confirm data from ChIP-chip or ChIP-sequencing experiments
  • Measure the effect of sequence variants and mutagenesis on promoter function
  • Screen for promoter activation or develop activity profiles across the SRF signaling pathway for many compounds or conditions in parallel

SwitchGear also offers 3′UTR reporters for studying transcriptional stability, translational repression, and miRNA function. Read more about this technology.
